Unstoppable Updates from Siva (29): What do you ask for when you pray to God?

HI,
Tomorrow is Janmashtami - the day on which Lord Krishna was born. Rather he descended on to the earth in order to protect the good and annihilate the evil. It is the most auspicious day for all the vaishnavas - the krishna bhakts. There are celebrations all over the world. Devotees come together and chant together the hari nama sankeertana and dance with joy singing the prayers unto krsna, and eat the krsna prasaad with utmost delight. You may like to explore the opportunity of joining the janmashtami celebrations tomorrow in the community where you live.

Let us remember an incidence from the Mahabharata and learn a lesson from it on what we have to ask god for.
----------------------------------------------------
What do you ask for when you pray to God?
When the mediation process failed, both pandavas and kauravas started preparing for the war. They went to different kings seeking their support in the war. Both Duryodhana and Arjuna went to Krishna to seek his help as well. Krishna was asleep at that time. When he woke up, he saw Arjuna sitting at his feet. Then he also noticed Duryodhana who seated himself near his head. He welcomed both of them and asked them for the reason for which they came.

Duryodhana replied that he came to seek the support of Krishna in the war. Arjuna also said the same thing. Then, Krishna gave them 2 options to choose from, "I am on one side; and my entire army is on the other side." He also said that he would neither fight the war nor hold any arms and weapons in the war. Arjuna immediately said, "Oh Krishna, I want you to be on my side in the war." Duryodhana felt in the heart of his hearts very happy that Arjuna chose that option in stead of the other. He chose the other option and asked Krishna for his entire army to fight the war on his side.
----------------------------------------------------
Two persons? Two choices? They were happy with their choices. But who was wiser? Arjuna asked for Krishna himself and Duryodhana asked from Krishna for his army. You know very well who became the winner in the great battle of Kurukshetra.

It is our choice when we pray to god : 1) Asking for God? or 2) Asking from God?  Do we want God or God's property? Those of us who seek him gain much more than those who seek from him. When the almighty is with you, what else you would need? When he is with you, you don't have to ask for anything. He will give you everything you need, whether you ask or not.

So, what do you ask for when you pray to god the next time?

To your unstoppable success,
With love,
Siva
