namam no. 255) siddhidah (सिद्धिदः) (సిద్ధిదః)

om siddhidaaya namah (ओं सिद्धिदाय नमः) (ఓం సిద్ధిదాయ నమః)

The god is called siddhidah as He blesses those who worship Him with aNima, garima, etc.

The learned say that aNima, garima, etc are the 8 siddhis (ashtasiddhus). They are:

1) aNima = atomic - taking minutest form;
2) mahima = gaining the largest form;
3) garima = having very heavy weight;
4) laghima = having the lightest body;
5) praapti = ability to get immediately what is desired;
6) praakaamyam = ability to go to any world and move with freedom;
7) eeSvatam = ability to establish all;
8) vaSitvam = having control on senses.

In essence, it means that god has the ability to bless His devotees with these 8 riches.

om namo bhagavate vasudevaya!
