Monday Motivation for Success from Siva (70): The one factor that signifies a good heart.

Hi,
Who is a good heart? The one who thinks good of himself and his people, his family, friends, relatives and all other well wishers of him? Can we call him a good heart? A true good heart goes beyond this. He thinks of welfare of all without differentiating the one who is in his favour of him from the one who is against him. A good heart lets go of bad experiences, bad events, and bad people from his mind and heart and continues to wish welfare of all. Let us look at this incident from The Ramayana and see if we could take advantage of it in shaping our own personality.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The one factor that signifies a good heart.

As Ravana abducted Sita Devi and took her to Lanka and Rama and his associates were preparing for the war with him, Vibheeshana, brother of Ravana, left his brother and kingdom of Lanka and approached Rama for his forgiveness. When Sugreeva informed Rama of the arrival of Vibheeshana, he said the following:

"vibheeshaNovaa sugreeva! Yadi vaa raavaNah svayam?"
"विभीषणोवा सुग्रीव! यदि वा रावणः स्वयं I"
"విభీషణోవా సుగ్రీవ! యది వా రావణః స్వయం?"

The meaning of these words from Rama signifies what a good heart is. He said, "Is it Vibheeshana who came? Or the Ravana himself came seeking forgiveness? I will protect whoever it is."

Ravana did the unforgivable act of abducting Sita Devi. He troubled her and caused a lot of pain to Rama. He became the worst enemy to Rama. But Rama was willing to forget and forgive him. He wanted to even protect him if he also sought forgiveness.

And that is the quality of an utmost good heart.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thinking good of all including those who caused hurt and pain to us is easier said than done. It is natural for one to develop hatred and stop thinking welfare of those who troubled us. But, in the process, we lose more than those whom we hate and abhor. It would do a world of good to us if we could develop the strength of wishing welfare even for those who worked against us. At the least, it will make our lives less stressful and more joyful.

To your continued SUCCESS,
With love,
Siva

Thought of the Day (136): The Law of Giving and Receiving.

"The law of giving and receiving is simple. If you want love, learn to give love; if you want attention and appreciation, learn to give attention and appreciation; if you want material affluence, help others to become materially affluent. "
Deepak Chopra

"If you want to be blessed with all the good things in life, learn to silently bless everyone with all the good things in life. The more you give the more you will receive."
Deepak Chopra

That is the Law of Giving and Receiving as stated and explained by Deepak Chopra. As such there is greater joy in giving than in receiving. The secret is in giving, in finding ways and means of giving others what they want, and in helping others become what they want to become. You will eventually get what you want and become what you want to become.

Start giving something or the other every single person you come in contact with. Start looking for opportunities for giving and begin thinking about helping others. Shift your focus from receiving to giving, and start giving more and more, you will soon start receiving more and more.

With love,

aum atulaaya namah (ओं अतुलाय नमः) (ఓం అతులాయ నమః)

The word pratima means something that is comparable. The word tulaa also has the same meaning. As there is no one who is comparable with God in any aspect, He is called atulah.

Thought of the Day (135): Your kindness depends on who are, and not on what others do to you.

"Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless."
Mother Teresa – 1910-1997, Religious Sister and Missionary

"Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you."
Princess Diana

Are you a kind person at your heart, in your thoughts, words, and actions? With all the people you interact with? Great, you are truly kind then. But if you are kind only towards kind people and not so towards the people who do not matter to you, would you still call yourself a kind person? No, certainly not. If you are a kind-hearted person, you are kind always irrespective of the person you are dealing with. It can not be a conditional kindness. It has to be kindness without conditions. Because that is what you are at the core of yourself.

If your kindness depends who others are and what they do, it becomes a conditional kindness. But, if it depends only on you and not on others, you are truly a kind person.

You are born to be kind and destined to succeed in life.

Sales Secret (53): Your Personal Conviction is the Key to your Sales Success. Here it is why?

Hi,
When you are selling an idea or  product or a service, it is first important to have a firm conviction for yourself that it would help the person you are talking to in the best possible manner and that it will only help you build your relationship with him and never harm your friendship with him. If you don't have that conviction, how can you offer him anything?

Hence, first learn for yourself first. Be sure that you are making your offer in the best interest of the person you are talking to. Be sure that your offer will only make your relationship stronger and better. Therefore, get all the answers and be convinced first for yourself. Once you have that conviction that your offer would serve your customer and get him what he wants, please go ahead and make your proposal. Your success in sales is then guaranteed.

To your sales success,
With love,
Siva

Thought of the Day (134): Judge none by practicing nonjudgment; You will explore yourself much more.

"The stage is a place where I can be wholly myself. Even though you're in front of people almost to be judged, it is a place without judgement."
Florence Welch

"Practicing nonjudgment is another way to experience the Law of Pure Potentiality."
Deepak Chopra

Do not judge others. Also, do not worry about others' judgement of you. Explore yourself. There is a lot to learn about yourself and you need to spend time for that. There is no time for you to waste in judging others right or wrong, good or bad, or true or false. Take time to explore yourself and unleash yourself for the good of you and your world.

You are born to succeed and destined to be great.

namam no. 356) garuDadhvajah (गरुड़ध्वजः) (గరుడధ్వజః)

aum garuDadhvajaaya namah (ओं गरुड़ध्वजाय नमः) (ఓం గరుడధ్వజాయ నమః)

The earlier namam mahaakshah revealed garuda as the vehicle of god. The paramaatma is called garudadvajah as the garuda himself also comes on a dvaja

The garuda has also become a major symbol of Lord Vishnu.

namam no. 355) mahaakshah (महाक्षः) (మహాక్షః)

aum mahaakshaaya namah (ओं महाक्षाय नमः) (ఓం మహాక్షాయ నమః)

mahaa = great; aksha = axis

He is called mahaakshah as He has got a great aksha. The axis of a vehicle is called an aksha. Just as an axis supports the vehicle and its driver and others it carries on it, here the word aksha refers to the vehicle of god, the garuda. The word aksha also means a thing that can be worshipped.

As the paramaatma has the divine garuda as his vehicle, He is called mahaakshah.

namam no. 354) vruddhaatmaa (वृद्धात्मा) (వృద్ధాత్మా)

aum vruddhaatmane namah (ओं वृद्धात्मने नमः) (ఓం వృద్ధాత్మనే నమః)

Here the word aatma means the god's divine swaroopam that is filled with knowledge and happiness.
Thus He is called vruddhaatmaa as He has the extremely vast gyaanaand swaroopam that could cover the two spaces of leelavibhuti and nityavibhuiti that were described in the earlier names.

Thus this namam means that He has such a body that is vast and all-pervading.

Monday Motivation for Success from Siva (69): The Ultimate Maxim for Success in Life. Are you practising it?

Hi,
How do we behave in our day to day life? Do we behave in the same manner with different people, in different situation, at different times and in different places? Do we conduct ourselves in the right manner when we visit a place of worship? Does our conduct change no sooner than just when we walk out of a temple? Why so? Is it perhaps we believe that god only resides inside places of worship and not out of them? Or is it that we think we get a license to behave in any way we want to be if we just conduct ourselves good when we offer our prayers.  Is it correct to think and believe so? Let us look at this episode from bhagavata purana and see if we could make a shift in the way we behave and conduct ourselves.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Ultimate Maxim for Success in Life. Are you practising it?
(Info Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiranyakashipu)

Hiranyakashipu was a highly powerful king who had earned a boon from Brahma that made him virtually indestructible. After long years of penance, he was awarded a boon by Brahma that he would NOT be killed within any residence or outside any residence, during the daytime or at night, on the ground or in the sky or in the water, by a living or a nonliving entity, by any demigod or demon or by any great snake.  With these powers, he became very arrogant and wanted everyone in his kingdom treat him as a god.

As his brother was earlier killed by Vishnu in his Varaha avatar, Hiranyakashipu developed hatred for Vishnu and wanted to take a revenge against him. He asked everyone in his kingdom to stop worshipping Vishnu and start worshipping him. But to his dislike and disappointment, his own son Prahlad, who was a strong devotee of Vishnu, continued to praise and worship only Vishnu as his god. Failing to change the mind of Prahlad through several ways and means, Hiranyakshipu got angry and decided to kill him. But, failed in doing so too.

Then, ultimately he challenged Prahlad and questioned the existence of Vishnu. Prahlad replied to his father, “My Vishnu is omnipresent and there is not a single place where he is not found. There is no need to doubt his presence in any place or a person or an object. If you search, you will find him in anything and everything”.

The King got furthermore furious and asked Prahlad “Can you show me your Vishnu in this pillar as well?”

Prahlad said “Yes, I can. He is very much there.”

The King hit the pillar strongly with his mace. With a thundering sound the pillar cracked open and Vishnu appeared in the form of Narasimha – the half man - half lion form. The furious Narasimha grabbed Hiranyakasipu, pulled him to his lap, tore open his body with his claws, and killed him.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
He is there everywhere. God is omnipresent. He watches us all the time. He knows what we are doing. He is observing each and everyone of us. He rewards us according to our deeds and actions. Though He is highly forgiving, He does not let the evil rule over the good. He protects the good and saves them all the time. Our conduct has to be therefore good not just inside the places of worship. We have to behave in the right manner at all places. Because, He is present everywhere at all times. Believing this, we could be better, much more successful and a lot more peaceful, if we understand and practise the maxim - "Behave as if you are being watched all the time.

To your continued SUCCESS,
With love,
Siva

Sales Secret (52): Genuine interest in people catapults your sales; Take it.

Hi,
As a sales person, where is your interest? In selling your ideas, or products and services to the other person and making more money for yourself? Or in understanding the needs and wants of the other person and helping him? Are you too selfish thinking about only yourself, your products and services, and your success in sales? Or would you love being a good person who is genuinely interested in understand what the person needs and helping him get that?

Be concerned for other people. Value their time and money. Respect their dreams. Understand their needs and wants. And be genuinely interested in people. And also express it. Show your concern and your genuine interest in them. They would see you as the right person they could trust and rely up on. Your sales will naturally happen sooner than later.

Thought of the Day (133): Your behaviour is your character that paves your path to success.

"People's character is their behaviour - we're all capable of good and evil."
Bertie Carvel

"The world sees in our conduct, in our behaviour, the proof that we are the real children of God."
Pope Shenouda III

The way we behave shows what our character is. The way we behave with different people, in different situations, at different times, and at different places reveals what our character is. Do we behave in the same way? Or do we change with time, space, and the situation? We are capable of moulding our behaviour in the way we want it to be. It is in our hands. Your behaviour is your character that could pave your path to your success or lead you to your destruction.

Be mindful of this fact every minute of your life and mold your behaviour for your good. You are born to be good and destined to become great.

aum ruddhaaya namah (ओं रुद्धाय नमः) (ఓం ఋద్ధాయ నమః)

This namam ruddhah reveals that Lord Vishnu satisfies Himself by giving happiness to His devotees in those two spaces: the nityavibhuti and the leelavibhuti.

He made Vibheeshana as the king of Lanka as promised to him when he came to him after his brother Ravana sent him out of the kingdom. He also presented the child devotee (balabhakt) Dhruva one of the clusters in the universe. he was very happy gifting His devotees what they deserved as revealed by this namam ruddhah.

Sales Secret (51): Are you spending time with suspects or investing time with prospects?

Hi,
Getting sales takes time. And for a salesman, time is money. After all, as a salesman you are using your time to meet and talk to customers and convince them to buy your products and services. It is in this context very important to understand and identify who the right customers (prospects) are and use your time for them.

There are people who waste your time and they are never going to buy from you. You suspect they would buy. You spend time with them. But they don't buy. Hence, they are not prospects. They are just suspects. You have to get away from them sooner. It is better you recognise such suspects and stop spending time with them. Because, you have to invest your time with those who are in need of your products and services. And, you are required to invest your time in helping them understand you, your organisation, your products and services, and how you are going to be of value to them. They are prospects. They are likely to buy from you. It is your responsibility that you give them your time and help them make a conscious decision.

So, stop spending time with suspects, and start investing time with prospects.

To your sales success,
With love,
Siva

Thought of the Day (132): Are you giving time to yourself? At least 1%?

"Don't think about making life better for other people who don't even deserve you, rather, focus on making your life the best, for yourself and those who love you."
C. JoyBell C.

"It is not for me to judge another man's life. I must judge, I must choose, I must spurn, purely for myself. For myself, alone."
Hermann Hesse, Siddhartha

A lot of time goes in thinking about others, what they have done to you, and how you have reacted to it. A lot more time also goes in thinking about what others will do to you in future and how you would respond to it. It is most of the time about others and the outside world. It is time for you to look at yourself and more importantly to look "into" yourself. You are born to be happy. You are meant to live your life with happiness. Remember, happiness comes from within, and not from outside. It is time you give time to yourself. If you could give at least 1% of your time to yourself, you will very soon be a very happy person.

aum mahardhaye namah (ओं महारधये नमः) (ఓం మహర్ధయే నమః)

He is called mahardhih as He has unlimited abundance (samruddhi) that could cause prosperity and well being to His devotees.

The paramaatma has twin splendours: 1) universe called leelavibhooti and 2) vaikuntha called nityavibhooti. As He is omnipotent and joyful on His own, He does not require these assets for Himself. He uses them only for creating prosperity and well being to His devotees.

Monday Motivation for Success from Siva (68): Do you think you are wise and learned? Then, are you doing this?

Hi,
There are different types of people we deal with. Some are very innocent, and some very intelligent. Some might be quite old and aged. There are also friends, relatives, and family members, and some foes too. There are managers and dependents, owners and workers, and so on. How do you look at them? Do you show equal respect towards all of them? Or your love for people varies depending on who they are and what they are to you? What is the right way to do? How should you actually be? Let us look at these verses to understand and learn what the scriptures say in this regard.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you think you are wise and learned? Then, are you doing this?

Here are a couple of verses (2-2-37; 2-2-38) taken from the Chapter II of Ayodhya Kaanda in The Ramayana:

saMgraamaatpunaraagamya kuN^jareNa rathena vaa ||
pauraan svajanavannityam kushalaM paripR^ichchhati |

putreshhvagnishhu daareshhu preshhyashishhyagaNeshhu cha ||
nikhilenaanupuurvyaachcha pitaa putraanivaurasaan |

These verses reveal how Rama treated his people in equal manner. He treated his citizens like his relatives. He used to ask them about their welfare in the same manner as a father does to his sons.  He asked them about their wives and children, about the sacred fires, about their servants and students, always completely as per the due order.  Why all this? Even towards his enemies too, he showed only love.

Let us also look at the verse given below to see what is given in The Bhavadgita (5:18) in this regard:

vidyaavinaya sampanne braahmaNe gavi hastini I
Sunichaiva svapaake cha panditaa ssamadarSinah II

Meaning: The humble sage, by virtue of true knowledge, sees with equal vision a learned and gentle braahmaṇa, a cow, an elephant, a dog and a dog-eater (outcaste). Bhakti Vedanta Srila Prabhupada explains it further in his book "Bhagavdgita - As it is" that a learned person sees with equal vision at all people and does not make any distinction between species or castes.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
We judge a lot. We differentiate people and treat them differently. We value and respect some and may not show any respect to some others. But this not what the wise should be doing according to the scriptures. What do you think? Please answer these questions.

1) Is this true and right that we in today's world should also be doing?

2) If yes, how can we gain that quality of seeing all equally and treating all people with same love and respect?

3) What can we do to be so good?

Your ideas and views are welcome in the form of comments on this post.

To your continued SUCCESS,
With love,
Siva
