namam no. 281) mantrah (मन्त्रः) (మంత్రః)

aum mantraaya namah (ओं मन्त्राय नमः) (ఓం మంత్రాయ నమః)

He got his namam mantrah as He protects all those who think and remember Him.

The god's name with a prefix of 'aum' and a suffix of 'namah' forms a mantra. Here the word mantra is referred as a name itself.

It means He protects the one who prays to Him.

aum namo bhagavate vasudevaya!
