Sales Secret (51): Are you spending time with suspects or investing time with prospects?

Hi,
Getting sales takes time. And for a salesman, time is money. After all, as a salesman you are using your time to meet and talk to customers and convince them to buy your products and services. It is in this context very important to understand and identify who the right customers (prospects) are and use your time for them.

There are people who waste your time and they are never going to buy from you. You suspect they would buy. You spend time with them. But they don't buy. Hence, they are not prospects. They are just suspects. You have to get away from them sooner. It is better you recognise such suspects and stop spending time with them. Because, you have to invest your time with those who are in need of your products and services. And, you are required to invest your time in helping them understand you, your organisation, your products and services, and how you are going to be of value to them. They are prospects. They are likely to buy from you. It is your responsibility that you give them your time and help them make a conscious decision.

So, stop spending time with suspects, and start investing time with prospects.

To your sales success,
With love,
Siva
