Monday Motivation for Success from Siva (69): The Ultimate Maxim for Success in Life. Are you practising it?

Hi,
How do we behave in our day to day life? Do we behave in the same manner with different people, in different situation, at different times and in different places? Do we conduct ourselves in the right manner when we visit a place of worship? Does our conduct change no sooner than just when we walk out of a temple? Why so? Is it perhaps we believe that god only resides inside places of worship and not out of them? Or is it that we think we get a license to behave in any way we want to be if we just conduct ourselves good when we offer our prayers.  Is it correct to think and believe so? Let us look at this episode from bhagavata purana and see if we could make a shift in the way we behave and conduct ourselves.

The Ultimate Maxim for Success in Life. Are you practising it?
(Info Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiranyakashipu)

Hiranyakashipu was a highly powerful king who had earned a boon from Brahma that made him virtually indestructible. After long years of penance, he was awarded a boon by Brahma that he would NOT be killed within any residence or outside any residence, during the daytime or at night, on the ground or in the sky or in the water, by a living or a nonliving entity, by any demigod or demon or by any great snake.  With these powers, he became very arrogant and wanted everyone in his kingdom treat him as a god.

As his brother was earlier killed by Vishnu in his Varaha avatar, Hiranyakashipu developed hatred for Vishnu and wanted to take a revenge against him. He asked everyone in his kingdom to stop worshipping Vishnu and start worshipping him. But to his dislike and disappointment, his own son Prahlad, who was a strong devotee of Vishnu, continued to praise and worship only Vishnu as his god. Failing to change the mind of Prahlad through several ways and means, Hiranyakshipu got angry and decided to kill him. But, failed in doing so too.

Then, ultimately he challenged Prahlad and questioned the existence of Vishnu. Prahlad replied to his father, “My Vishnu is omnipresent and there is not a single place where he is not found. There is no need to doubt his presence in any place or a person or an object. If you search, you will find him in anything and everything”.

The King got furthermore furious and asked Prahlad “Can you show me your Vishnu in this pillar as well?”

Prahlad said “Yes, I can. He is very much there.”

The King hit the pillar strongly with his mace. With a thundering sound the pillar cracked open and Vishnu appeared in the form of Narasimha – the half man - half lion form. The furious Narasimha grabbed Hiranyakasipu, pulled him to his lap, tore open his body with his claws, and killed him.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
He is there everywhere. God is omnipresent. He watches us all the time. He knows what we are doing. He is observing each and everyone of us. He rewards us according to our deeds and actions. Though He is highly forgiving, He does not let the evil rule over the good. He protects the good and saves them all the time. Our conduct has to be therefore good not just inside the places of worship. We have to behave in the right manner at all places. Because, He is present everywhere at all times. Believing this, we could be better, much more successful and a lot more peaceful, if we understand and practise the maxim - "Behave as if you are being watched all the time.

To your continued SUCCESS,
With love,
Siva
