Monday Motivation for Success from Siva (68): Do you think you are wise and learned? Then, are you doing this?

Hi,
There are different types of people we deal with. Some are very innocent, and some very intelligent. Some might be quite old and aged. There are also friends, relatives, and family members, and some foes too. There are managers and dependents, owners and workers, and so on. How do you look at them? Do you show equal respect towards all of them? Or your love for people varies depending on who they are and what they are to you? What is the right way to do? How should you actually be? Let us look at these verses to understand and learn what the scriptures say in this regard.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you think you are wise and learned? Then, are you doing this?

Here are a couple of verses (2-2-37; 2-2-38) taken from the Chapter II of Ayodhya Kaanda in The Ramayana:

saMgraamaatpunaraagamya kuN^jareNa rathena vaa ||
pauraan svajanavannityam kushalaM paripR^ichchhati |

putreshhvagnishhu daareshhu preshhyashishhyagaNeshhu cha ||
nikhilenaanupuurvyaachcha pitaa putraanivaurasaan |

These verses reveal how Rama treated his people in equal manner. He treated his citizens like his relatives. He used to ask them about their welfare in the same manner as a father does to his sons.  He asked them about their wives and children, about the sacred fires, about their servants and students, always completely as per the due order.  Why all this? Even towards his enemies too, he showed only love.

Let us also look at the verse given below to see what is given in The Bhavadgita (5:18) in this regard:

vidyaavinaya sampanne braahmaNe gavi hastini I
Sunichaiva svapaake cha panditaa ssamadarSinah II

Meaning: The humble sage, by virtue of true knowledge, sees with equal vision a learned and gentle braahmaṇa, a cow, an elephant, a dog and a dog-eater (outcaste). Bhakti Vedanta Srila Prabhupada explains it further in his book "Bhagavdgita - As it is" that a learned person sees with equal vision at all people and does not make any distinction between species or castes.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
We judge a lot. We differentiate people and treat them differently. We value and respect some and may not show any respect to some others. But this not what the wise should be doing according to the scriptures. What do you think? Please answer these questions.

1) Is this true and right that we in today's world should also be doing?

2) If yes, how can we gain that quality of seeing all equally and treating all people with same love and respect?

3) What can we do to be so good?

Your ideas and views are welcome in the form of comments on this post.

To your continued SUCCESS,
With love,
Siva
