namam no. 319) maheedharah (महीधरः) (మహీధరః)

aum maheedharaaya namah (ओं महीधराय नमः) (ఓం మహీధరాయ నమః)

Thus He is called maheedharah as He protected the earth by reducing its load.

This namam appears again as 371st name also. It reveals there too the same meaning. Here Parasuram reduced the load on the earth by annihilating the kshatriya clan.

Later in the 371st namam, it is described in the context of Krishnaavataar in which Krishna reduced the load of the earth with the annihilation of evil people.

aum namo bhagavate vasudevaya!
