namam no. 325) apaannidhih (अपांनिधिः) (అపాన్నిధిః)

aum apaannidhaye namah (ओं अपांनिधये नमः) (ఓం అపాన్నిధయే నమః)

appannidhih means the one who wore the water of an ocean. Here the word nidhi does not mean a golden treasure or a character treasure. It suggests a meaning of one wearing the most.

At the time of churning the ocean, He stayed at the bottom of the ocean in the form of a turtle (koormaavatar) and wore all of the water without allowing it to overflow the shores.

He is thus called apaannidhih as He wore the ocean water in the form of a turtle during the churning of the ocean.

aum namo bhagavate vasudevaya!
