Monday Motivation for Success from Siva (63): Here is way to control the anger of others around you.

Hi,
Anger is destructive. It hurts the one who has it and also the people around. Everyone knows it, and therefore wants to gain a control over it, but finds it difficult to manage it when the situation arises. Every time we succumb to the temptation of getting angry, we realise its negative consequences only after suffering from them. Is there a way to gain control over our own anger and also help others around control their anger too. Let us look at this episode from Vishnu Purana to find ways and means of controlling anger.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is way to control the anger of others around you.

At the end of the samudra manthan (the churning of the ocean, there was a dispute between devatas and asuras (the demons) when it came to sharing of amrit- the divine nectar of immortality. The asuras wanted all of it. But the devatas too wanted it. As the asuras were taking the possession of it, Vishnu appeared in the form of a beautiful woman, the mohini avatar, and took up the task of distribution of the amrit. She made the devatas sit in a row on one side and the asuras on the opposite side facing the devatas. She started doling out the amrit first to the devatas one after the other. The asuras felt uncomfortable initially and later noticing that there was not even a drop of amrit left in the pot by the time she completed distributing it to the devatas and came to the demons, they became very agitated and extremely angry.
Noticing their anger, Mohini sensed the need to suppress their anger in order to avoid any fight on the matter. She immediately started talking to them in a soft and sweet manner with a smile on her face that made them forget their loss of the amrit as they were enthralled with her enchanting personality at that moment.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
A sense of loss or a feeling of insult makes one become angry. One way of helping a person pacify anger is not in negating or retaliating further, but in managing emotions through amicable words and a gentle smile on face. Words of consolation, an assuring voice of empathy, a smile of reconciliation, a touch of comfort, and a shoulder for support help people control emotions of anger. Its time to help not only self but also others learn to master the art of controlling anger for a more peaceful life.

To your continued SUCCESS,
With love,
Siva
