Om namo bhagavate vasudevaya!
Though there is no division shown in the VSNS as such, there are some slokas before and some slokas after the sahasranaama in the stotram. Hence, let us consider that there are 3 parts in 'Sri Vishnu Sahasra Naama Stotram' as chanted by the devotees of Lord Vishnu, and a brief note on them is given below.
Part 1: Poorva peethika comprises slokas preceeding the vishnu sahasranaama. It highlights the backdrop and gives an introduction to VSNS. This first part emphasizes the importance of VSNS mainly covering the Yudhistar's questions to Bhishma and his reply to them.
Part 2: This is the part that contains the the sahasranaama, thousand names of Lord Vishnu. There are 108 slokas in this part. While the sahasra naama were covered in the 107 slokas, the last 108th sloka has been added by the learned people later on, and it has thus been practiced and chanted as a part of the sahasranaama.
Part 3: Uttara peethika comprises the concluding verses that suggest the good effects of chanting VSNS daily and also the manner in which it should be done.
