Trainer's Notes for SUCCESS from Siva (9): It’s not winning over others, but ‘winning with others’ that results in true SUCCESS

Hi,
Good morning! In continuation with last Saturday’s TNSS, I would like to review and present the Chapter “Profile of a Double Winner” from the same book, “Double Win” by Denis Waitley through this week’s TNSS. The difference between losers, winners, and double winners is summarized as:
LOSERS say
“There is no way I can win.”
WINNERS say
“I will do everything I can to win.”
DOUBLE WINNERS say
“If you win, I win too.”
The essence of the Double Win is ‘not winning over others’, but ‘winning with others.’ Denis Waitley dissected the personalities of a number of people who have been authentic Double Winners during their career and presented the general profile of a double winner in his book as summarized below:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Double Winner’s Trait
Essence of the Trait
Remarks
1 Double Winners enjoy the game The person who plays any game with the intention of enjoying the game itself, regardless of outcome, always wins.

Double Winners don’t let economics alone influence their long-range decisions. They explore their potential, learn what they are “good at,” and pursue to give their best in their chosen field with gusto and eagerness.
For them, it is not TGIF (Thank God, It’s Friday).
They say, “TGIM. Thank God, It’s Monday.
2 Double Winners have a purpose beyond self Double Winners have clarity of their goals, feel vibrant about them as well as how they will benefit others. They have a purpose that will outlive them. They are constantly creating something beautiful for others.
3 Double Winners earn the respect of others The more we modify our win-lose selfishness to win-win (Double Win) behaviour, the more acceptance we gain from others. The more acceptance we have, the safer we feel, and the less negative stress we experience.

They acquire goodwill by doing things that help others win.
Satisfaction is in helping others become winners. Be it the farmers or farm workers, companies or customers, people in any walk of life that one is associated with. The pay-off is in the giving.
4 Double Winners practice synergism Double Winners cooperate and work together for mutual advantage.
If you own a piece of action, if you feel as if you are a part of a winning machine and that you really count, you do everything you can to increase productivity.
The key to success is ‘synergy through a sense of ownership.’
5 Double Win communication: “I will make them glad.” Double winners are the masters of art of listening. They show and express value to others by listening and being receptive to what others have to say.
They possess the attitude, “I will make them glad they talked to me.”
When we have other people’s interests in our heart, not just our own, the others can sense it.
6 Double Winners never lose They actually win while losing.
They give their best, and they don’t curse themselves for losing as they think that they have given their best, and that the opponent is perhaps more skilful.
When we get rid of the self-defeating patterns, we gain the Double Win attitude.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There may be many many more characteristics of a Double Winner. It is possible for everyone to be a double winner in this world. What is required is to understand and imbibe the qualities of a double winner in one’s own personality. When we believe in Double Win and work towards “winning with others” rather than “winning over others,” we start enjoying greater SUCCESS at WORK and more JOY in LIFE.
To learn more about how the Double Win can work in anyone’s life, please read the book, “The Double Win” by Denis Waitley.
To YOUR SUCCESS,
With love and regards,
Siva
