om namo bhujagottamaaya namah (ओं भुजगोत्तमाय नमः) (ఓం భుజగోత్తమాయ నమః)

The word padmanaabha appeared earlier as nama No. 48 where it was referred to 'anirudhdha murthy. It is going to come again now as nama No. 198
.

Here in this sloka, the first of all the avatars 'padmanaabha swaroopam' is described through the namam No. 195 (bhujagottamah to namam No. 199 (prajaapatih).

The nama bhujagottamah reveals that He is the one who is lying on aadiseshu as His bed in the middle of the sea.
