Monday Motivation for Success from Siva (MMFS-35): The REWARDS are always commensurate with the EFFORTS

Hi,
Is it fair to expect to get favorable results without putting in any effort? Is it possible at all? Even if you want to win a lottery, you have to learn about the options available, analyze them, select the best option, decide on buying the ticket, then go and buy the ticket, look for the results, and so on. As the nature provides for, the results and rewards are always commensurate with the efforts. The bigger the effort is the more rewarding the results are. Let us look at this the biggest ever effort that had been put in on the planet earth and see how vastly rewarding the results are.....
-------------------------------------------
The REWARDS are always commensurate with the EFFORTS
In satya yuga, there had always been a conflict between the devatas (the good) and the rakshasas (the demons, the evil). Lord Vishnu helped them strike a compromise and also agree to work together to churn the ocean of milk in order to obtain the divine nectar of immortality. So as to churn such a large ocean, they needed a churning staff of the size of a mountain. Hence, both devatas and rakshasas gathered in lakhs of numbers, labored hard, uprooted the mountain Mandara and brought it to the seashore. In the process of shifting the mountain, several of them fell under the mountain and died. They started wondering how to lift it again and place it in the middle of the ocean, and also how to keep it afloat all through the process of churning the ocean without allowing it to sink and get stuck at the bottom of the ocean.

Then again Lord Vishnu helped them. He lifted the mountain and kept it on the shoulders of the Garuda and instructed him to place it further on his own back as he took the form of a huge tortoise - the kurma avatar so that his back could be used as a pivot upon which the churning mountain could turn. He told the devatas and rakshasas to use the Mount Mandara as the churning stick and the serpent Vasuki as the churning rope and churn the ocean by pulling it back and forth. And, they did accordingly.

As this greatest effort of churning an ocean progressed over several years, it produced the rewards that were also of the highest order. It resulted not only in the divine nectar for which the whole effort was put in but also 13 other most wondrous things as listed below:
1. Kamadhenu - the wish-fulfilling cow of plenty
2. Iravata - the stately white elephant
3. Uchchaih-sravas - the divine white horse for Indra
4. Paarijaata - a tree of fragrance in the paradise of Indra
5. Rambha and other celestial apsarasas
6. Chandra - The moon taken by Lord Shiva
7. Kalpavriksha - the wish-fulfilling tree
8. Kaustubha - the precious diamond, taken by Vishnu himself
9. Haalahala - the deadly poison consumed by Lord Shiva
10. Shankh - the conch shell of Lord Vishnu
11. Lakshmi - the goddess of wealth, with a lotus in her hand
12. Dhanush - the mighty bow
13. Sura, Varunee - the goddess of wine
14. Finally, Dhanwantri - the god of medicine, with a pot of  the divine nectar (Amrit) of immortality in his hand

What an effort! And what a result! No wonder the greatest gifts ever were the result of this greatest effort. First, there was intent. Then there was an effort of required magnitude that yielded the results commensurate with the effort.
-------------------------------------------
Anticipating great results with ordinary efforts is ridiculous. If we want to get extraordinary results, we need to put in extraordinary efforts. And there is neither a substitute nor a short-cut for that. Simple equation!! Results are directly proportional to the efforts we put in.

Action Items:
Step 1: Firstly, Identify the rewards you would like to earn.
Step 2: Then, make a list of all the efforts that you need to put in so as to achieve your chosen goals
Step 3: Get into the action; Put in excellence in every effort.

Your SUCCESS is guaranteed!

With love and regards,
Siva
