namam no. 302) yugaavartah (युगावार्ताः) (యుగావర్తః)

aum yugaavartaaya namah (ओं युगावरताय नमः) (ఓం యుగావర్తాయ నమః)

He is called yugaavartah as He rotates the kruta, treata, and the other yugaas again and again in order to continue to run the system of dharma established by Him.

Furthering what is revealed by the earlier namam, this namam yugaavartah means that the paramaatma rotates the four yugaas one after the other so as to run the system that is necessary to maintain the four dharmaas

namam no. 301) yugaadikrut (युगादिकृत) (యుగాదికృత్)

aum yugaadikrute namah (ओं युगादिकृते नमः) (ఓం యుగాదికృతే నమః)

From no onward, some of the names of Vishnu will describe the enormously amazing impact of god. This first name yugaadikrut explains that He preserves the universe at the time of pralayam that happens between the two yugaas.

Whenever a yuga ends, He becomes the source and establishes the system for the next yuga. During the transition of two yugaas when the water-disaster (jalapralayam) occurs, He swallows all the living and non-living entities into His stomach, protects them, and recreates them at the beginning of the new yuga

He does all of this in the form of a small infant who floats on a banyan leaf on water. Is it not amazing how a small infant could swallow the entities of all the universe and then by being so heavy still lies floating on a banyan leaf on water?

namam no. 300) prabhuh (प्रभुः) (ప్రభుః)

aum prabhave namah (ओं प्रभवे नमः) (ఓం ప్రభవే నమః)

The word prabhu means the one who is capable. He is called prabhuh as He, possessing such great qualities in Him in abundance, is capable of attracting all the living beings. Here the capability refers to His ability to attract.

People may have different tastes. They may vary in their nature. But there is no one who does not get attracted to Him. Be it the sages who do the penances or the paupers and ordinary mortals, all are attracted to Him. He is prabhuh.

aum kaamapradaaya namah (ओं कामप्रदाय नमः) (ఓం కామప్రదాయ నమః)

He is called kaamapradah as He blesses appropriately and accordingly those who desire/want Him and also those who wish for the material rewards.

According to their level of maturity, some devotees want Him, nothing else. Some others want riches, health, knowledge, and other worldly rewards. He is not like the other devatas who give just one or two rewards. This namam suggests that He gives all that one wants.

Sales Secret (44): Can you get away without selling? You just can't. So...

Hi,
Let me ask you once again. Do you love selling or hate it? Do you like to see yourself as a salesman or not? Do you sell with your body, mind, and soul or dread doing it? What is your opinion about selling after reading the previous 43 posts on selling on this blog? Have you read the very first posts written on this blog about selling that defined what selling is, and who does it and who doesn't do it? If not click on the link at the bottom of this message and take a look at the first sales secrets (1-10) published on this blog.

Once you understand what selling is, I am sure you will appreciate how important it is for you to sell whoever you are and whatever you do. And how you sell is a different thing which we can keep talking about. The methods vary. Some sell by selling. Some sell by not selling too. But remember everyone is selling. You have to sell too. You can't get away in your life without selling. You just can't. So, you better sell, survive, and succeed.
To your sales success,
With love,
Siva

Thought of the Day (116): Are you at the right place at the right time? Be the right person too.

"The two most important requirements for major success are: first, being in the right place at the right time, and second, doing something about it."
Ray Kroc

"Talent alone won't make you a success. Neither will being in the right place at the right time, unless you are ready. The most important question is: 'Are your ready?'"
 - Johnny Carson

It is also said that it is not just enough if you are at the right place at the right time. It is important that you are the right person doing the right thing in the right way too. Unless you are doing the right thing in the right way, it is of no use even if you are at the right place at the right time. The important thing is to check for yourself what you are trying to be where you are.

Be the right person thinking right right things and doing them in the right way. Your success is guaranteed. As such you are THE BEST person. And, just be that way.
 To your continued SUCCESS,
With love,
Siva

namam no. 298) kaamah (कामः) (కామః)

aum kaamaaya namah (ओं कामाय नमः) (ఓం కామాయ నమః)

He is called kaamaha as He is also highly adorable with His inner attributes like integrity, charity, kindness, and others.

If Manmadha, who has got just a minute fraction of such attributes of god's body and mind, is said to be most handsome in the world, do we have to say about the beauty of paramaatma who has a treasure of all of such qualities?

Shri Parashar Bhattar ji explains in his book that according to the word 'kaanta' He is desired to be seen by all due to His attributes of beauty, gentleness, etc. This namam again comes as 660th namam.

Monday Motivation for Success from Siva (58): The great are never satisfied of giving and serving.

Hi,
The great people give their best at their work. They serve to the best of their abilities. They understand the requirements of others at home and work place and serve them in all the engagements they are a part of. However well they perform in their responsibilities, they are not satisfied. Because, they want to give more and more. Their desire to give is never satiated. They are so thirsty of giving that they never get complacent and therefore always explore the opportunities for giving more and more to the people who depend on them. Let us look at this story from Mahabharata and see what we could learn from it for our own success in life.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The great are never satisfied of giving and serving
Yudhishtira fell for the game of dice and lost all his wealth, his brothers, and himself. He betted and lost Draupadi too. She was then dragged to the court of Duryodhana by the wicked Duhsasana. She was caught by her hair and brought to the assembly. He started disrobing her by pulling her garments.

She asked Yudhishtira, Bhima, and even Arjuna to save her. They bent their heads and kept quiet. She pleaded with the elders sitting there for justice. None of them rose up to stop Duhsasana. No one uttered a single word. They felt shameful and closed their eyes so as not to see the cruel attempt of disrobing her. Draupadi felt helpless. She asked for god's help, "Oh Krishna, the lord of the world, abandon me not in this dire plight. You are my sole saviour. Protect me." The divine intervention occurred, and she was given unlimited clothing that however long Duhsasana tried pulling and stripping her, she got fresh garments that clothed and covered her body. Duhsasana tried and tried pulling her saree, but failed to disrobe her, felt tired, and fell down.
In the later days of Krishna, he used to express his grief by saying, "When no one came to her rescue in the full assembly of the KauravasDraupadi had so much of trust in me that she cried for my help calling me 'Govinda, Dwarakavasa.' I could not do anything good to her." But Krishna actually gave her the unlimited clothing that indeed saved her respect and dignity on that day. He also gave protection to her mangalasutra by saving her five husbands time and again from several threats to their lives during their life. Though he did so much to her and the Pandavas, he always felt that he did not do enough for them. He wanted to help them more and more. That's why He is called Analah.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
We work. We give. We extend help to others when in need. And, it is important to continue to give more and more in fulfilling our responsibilities at home and work. We must always ask ourselves about what best we could give more and how best we could serve more to others. And, when we get into that nature of giving and sharing, we improve our inner self and love of helping others, we make our homes more joyful and our work places greater and more empowered and enjoyable for all. Can we shift our focus from questioning others about what they have done to asking ourselves what more we could do?

To your continued SUCCESS,
With love,
Siva

namam no. 296) kaamakrit (कामकृत) (కామకృత్)

aum kaamakrite namah (ओं कामकृते नमः) (ఓం కామకృతే నమః)

The paramaatma is called kaamakrit as He is the one who makes His devotees desire for other types of joys and also moksha (mukti). This namam thus reveals that He creates wants for the devotees.

While the earlier namam 'kaamahaa' suggests that He suppresses the wants of the devotees, this namam kaamakrit suggests the opposite of it. But they are actually not contradictory to each other.

While the name kaamahaa means that He suppresses the wants of his devotees for material and worldly pleasures, the namam kaamakrit suggests that he creates their wants that are oriented towards obtaining moksha.

Saturday Story from Siva (62): The lady whose name means the 'rarest of rare victories'

Hi,
She is 70 years old now. She is the most beautiful woman in the world today. She is also among the bravest women the world had ever seen. She is also the most liked woman in her country. She came to India a few years ago and went to a small village that is named after her in Anantpur district in the state of Andhra Pradesh and met a group of women there. She told them, "Do you know the meaning of my name? It means the 'rarest of the rare victories.' As women, my wish is that, you also get such victories in what you do." And the woman is Aung San Suu Kyi. Let us take a look at her inspirational story today.
-------------------------------------------------------------
The lady whose name means the 'rarest of rare victories'
Yesterday, the 13th November, became a red letter day for people of Myanmar, as it marked a new beginning for the whole nation with the declaration of victory of Aung San Suu Kyi's party in the recent elections. What a victory! Indeed a rarest of the rare victories! What a struggle she went through to see this day in her life and to give the gift of a democratic rule to the people of her nation!
She sacrificed a lot on her way for decades in order to achieve this rare victory. She faced innumerable dangers, hurdles, and obstacles in this journey of years. But she never lost her hope. She never gave up. She held on to her faith. She believed in herself. She retained a smile on her face even in the face of threats to her life. She is Aung San Suu Kyi.
She is rare. Her personality is rare. Her heart is beautiful, but brave too. Her face is gentle, but firm too. Her courage is quiet, but deep and determined too. Her faith in herself and her mission's success is undaunting and indomitable. She is Aung San Suu Kyi.
She was house-arrested for more than 15 years. Her family members were not allowed to see her. She faced life threats and attempts of assassination on her several times. She could not even go to her husband's funeral, lest she would fail in her mission. The military tried their best to discourage her, frustrate her, and foil her plans. But, she withstood every such attempt with a smile on her face. She is Aung San Suu Kyi.
Why is all this? What made her sacrifice so many things in her own life? How could she live on despite the worst of the hardships that were meted out to her? It was the PURPOSE for which she decided to live her life. A purpose beyond herself and her family! A purpose to give freedom to the people of a whole nation! A purpose to see a smile on the faces of the women who were imprisoned along with her in the jails of Myanmar! A purpose that brought her closer to the hearts of the people of the whole nation! A purpose which even her enemies had to ultimately appreciate and accept! And she brings the rarest of the rare victories - Aung San Suu Kyi - to the people of her nation and along with it the freedom to operate, to govern, and to give life to an otherwise dying nation.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Now that her NLD Party's victory in the elections was accepted and she was invited for discussions by the military, let us hope that her path to give a free and fair democratic rule to the people of her nation is clear. Let us stand by her and get inspired by her in this moment of her great victory. Let us learn that a life filled and lived with a purpose beyond oneself will surely achieve victories that are rarest of the rare.
To your continued success,
With love,
Siva

aum kaamaghne namah (ओं कामघ्ने नमः) (ఓం కామఘ్నే నమః)

The earlier names of the paramaatma described one by one His attributes like protecting nature, utmost sanctity, immense kindness, etc. This namam kaamahaa reveals that He gives to the devotees who enjoy feel blissful with these swamy's attributes His divine appearance and prevents their minds getting diverted towards the evil things.

Sales Secret (43): Selling is more of asking than telling

Hi,
If telling alone helped people sell, there would not have been any problems in this world. By mere telling, you can not sell an idea or a product or a service. But by asking, you can. Asking what? Firstly, the right questions that can elicit the issues and needs. Asking right questions not only helps you learn what your customer actually wants but also makes the customer hear about his needs with his own voice. That will make him feel his needs more and consequently the urgency with which he should get them met.

Hence, the greater part of sales process should be devoted to not talking, but asking questions and listening to the customer's answers. Stop talking, start asking and listening more. Asking questions is truly an art that is learnt and polished by sales people over a period of time. With practice, you too can perfect it. Remember, selling is more of asking than telling.

So, what are you going to do the next time you go to persuade a person to do what you want him to do? Ask & listen (or) keep talking?
To your sales success,
With love,
Siva

Thought of the Day (115): If you help yourself, you can expect to get it from others too

"I do believe in self-help."
Clint Eastwood

"The spirit of self-help is the root of all genuine growth in the individual."
 - Samuel Smiles

Are you doing your work in the first place? If you do not do what you are supposed to do for yourself, nobody would come to your rescue. So, you must first do what can do for yourself. Then everything will fall in place naturally. If you do not do what you should, and wait for some luck to happen or pray to god for getting your work done and do nothing about it, it is never going to happen. So, help yourself first by doing what you think you should and you can do. Then the whole universe will respond positively. Because, god helps those who help themselves.

namam no. 294) analah (अनलः) (అనలః)

aum analaaya namah (ओं अनलाय नमः) (ఓం అనలాయ నమః)

'alam' means a felling of sufficiency, enough. The paramaatma is called analah (na + alam) as he does not have that feeling of 'enough.'

The devotees may feel satisfied with what is given to them. But this swamy does not have such a satisfaction even after giving His devotees all that they want from Him. He wants to give them still more and more. Thats why He is called analah.

Thought of the Day (114): Commonsense makes more sense

"The three great essentials to achieve anything worth while are: Hard work, Stick-to-itiveness, and Common sense."
Thomas A. Edison

"It is a thousand times better to have common sense without education than to have education without common sense."
 - Robert Green Ingersoll

For success in life, it is commonsense that comes handy more than a list of degrees or a wealth of knowledge. Yes degrees and knowledge are important. But without commonsense, they would not give the full benefit of them to their possessors. With commonsense, they are best utilised. Yet commonsense is not so common today. Lack of it costs people heavily.

Yes, with interest and effort, commonsense can be developed and put in practice. Take a look at your present level of commonsense and start improving it from today. Yes you can learn to improve it by becoming conscious of it and practicing it in your day-to-day work.

With love,
Siva

He is known as paavanah as He sanctified with His touch the Ganga and other rivers such that they have the power of purifying all the worlds.

Just because of His touch, sanctity is attributed to the Ganga, the fire, and other others. Like Vishnu, Lakshmi Devi also has this kind of natural sanctity.

Unstoppable Updates (33): "Thamasomaa jyotirgamaya" (Lead me from darkness to light)

Hi,
Today, people are celebrating Deepavali everywhere. Deepavali means an array of lights. People light lamps and arrange them in a line or a variety of formations. As the festival falls on amaavaasya -the new moon night, these lamps dispel the darkness and bring a beautiful glow all around.

But actually, is there anything like darkness that exists in this world? As such there is nothing like darkness. It is only the absence of light that leads to a situation like darkness. It is therefore only the question of presence or absence of light. With light, there is brightness, and without it, it is darkness.

If lack of light is darkness for a matter, what is darkness for people? It must of be lack of something. Lack of knowledge is ignorance. Lack of health is disease. Lack of happiness is sorrow. Lack of peace is stress. Lack of gain is loss. Hence, the darkness of people is nothing but the ignorance, sorrow, stress, loss, disappointment, misery. All these are different forms of darkness which can be gotten rid of by the light of different forms of lamps.

With the light of knowledge, we can dispel ignorance. By installing the light of health, we can cure the disease. The lamp of happiness will destroy the sorrow. With the light of peace, the stress will disappear. If you bring in the light of prosperity, the darkness of loss will vanish. How can we do all this? What is that we should win over in order to light all these lamps of light? Let us look at what these scholars say and take a cue or two from them for greater success, happiness, and prosperity in our own lives.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thamasomaa jyotirgamaya (Lead me from darkness to light)
(Excerpts taken from http://www.hafsite.org/)

"The main story behind the celebration is Lord Rama's return to Ayodhya after fourteen years of sojourn in the forest. During which period Rama visited many sages, made alliances with different tribal chieftains and killed Ravana who was a menace to world peace and harmony. Ravana who grabs with twenty hands and consumes with ten mouths is a perfect representation of the modern consumerist material man. Rama who symbolises inner peace and bliss, who was born by self disciplined Dasaratha, is the ideal of enlightenment. Thus the message of Diwali is the victory of self-knowledge and moderation over self-indulgence and profligacy. To celebrate Diwali means to enjoy inner bliss, reduce our personal needs, light the lamp of wisdom in the community and share our gifts and resources with the marginalised and needy. Let this year's Diwali observance be a conscious commitment to the philosophy of 'less is more'."
  - Swami Bodhananda, Sambodh Foundation

"Diwali is a time set aside especially to nurture what is good for us (sreyas) rather than what is pleasant (preyas). This is demonstrated by Arjuna just before the Mahabharata war started. It was at this point that Arjuna uttered the greatest prayer of surrender in the Bhagavad Geeta. karpanyadoso pahata swabhavah prichchhami twam dharma sammudhachetah yacchhreya syaan nischitan bhruhi tanme shishyas teaham shadhi mam prapannam. O lord Krishna my mind is overpowered by weakness and i am confused as to what is right or what is wrong I take shelter and guidance as am your disciple. we are divine beings having a human experience rather than human beings having divine experience. This should be our life long remembrance. Divali is a good time to re-enforce and continue to nurture this wisdom. May we remove the layers of darkness so that inner divine light radiate. Happy Divali Mother Lakshmi's blessings."
 - Swami Parameshananda
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The message is loud and clear. The person we must aim at winning over is ourselves. There is so much to reclaim, reform, and refurbish to clear the darkness in all of its different forms. Deepavali gives an opportunity to introspect and begin the process of enlightening oneself.

May this Deepavali bring in greater success, peace, and prosperity to you! Happy Deepavali!
To your unstoppable success,
With love,
Siva

namam no. 292) pavanah (पवनः) (పవనః)

aum pavanaaya namah (ओं पवनाय नमः) (ఓం పవనాయ నమః)

He is called pavanah as He travels/moves naturally everywhere at all times..

Ordinary substances may have this kind of nature of movement. One may have a doubt. How is it possible for the swamy to have such a movement as is all-expansive and omnipresent like a sky? Here, we have to think that the god's all-pervasiveness as His nature of movement.

Sales Secret (42): What is your self-evaluation check list? Have one asap.

Hi,
Do you have a self-assessment format? A sort of a check-list on your performance and the results you get from it! While you may get feedback from your customers on you and your services, the important thing is to do self-evaluation so that you can improve the way you talked, the manner in which you behaved, the level of your sincerity towards helping your customer, the skill with which you handled the objections, the ease with which you asked your customer to learn about his needs, etc.,

Great sales people who excel at sales evaluate themselves at regular intervals and amend themselves and the way they sell. Once you become conversant with the professional sales cycle, you get the ability to see what went right and what went wrong. And, that gives you an opportunity to fine-tune your own system and style.

Hence, design your own self-evaluation check list as soon as possible, and start using it regularly to review your process as well as your performance and correct the errors, if any.
To your sales success,
With love,
Siva
